In the first half of the year, China exported about 400,000 used cars, or US$7.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 61%and54% respectively.

In the first half of the year, the top ten exporting countries accounted for 78% of the total, followed by: Russia (61,000 vehicles, 18.8%), Nigeria (43,000 vehicles, 13.2%), Kyrgyzstan (30,000 vehicles, 9.2%), Kazakhstan, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, Ghana, Cambodia, Uzbekistan, and Kenya.

3. Model structure: New energy is the only incremental engine

In the first half of the year, new energy used vehicles accounted for 31% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 196%, nearly three times that of the same period last year. More importantly, the price: the average FOB price of new energy used vehicles and bicycles is 30% higher than that of fuel vehicles, and the gross profit is 1.5-2 times that of fuel vehicles.

Zoom the lens further: The annual global trade volume of used cars is about 6 - 7 million, Japan exports about 1.7 million a year, the European Union is about 1.5 - 2 million, the United States is about 1.2 million, and South Korea is more than 500,000. After China removes the moisture of quasi-new cars this year, it expects 600,000 to 700,000 vehicles for the whole year, with a share of less than 10%.

In the first year of the pilot in 2019, 4300 vehicles were exported throughout the year. 400,000 vehicles in the second half of seven years.

But what really determines how far this business can go is not the export volume curve, but three slow efforts:overseas after-sales network, vehicle condition standardization certification, and new energy supporting facilities (especially charging)
