Summary: Implementation of new tariff policy in Cambodia| Consul General Wen Weiye visited China (Banan, Chongqing) used car export base to explore new opportunities for second-hand new energy vehicles going abroad

On April 1, Cambodia officially implemented a new policy to reduce import tariffs on new energy vehicles to zero. On the first day of the implementation of the New Deal, Wen Weiye, Consul General of the Consulate General of Cambodia in Chongqing, and his party made a special trip to China's (Banan, Chongqing) used car export base to conduct in-depth exchanges on new opportunities for second-hand new energy vehicles to sail to Cambodia under the New Deal. Fu Yi, the person in charge of the base and general manager of Huanyu Automobile, received and accompanied the entire inspection.

Tariffs are zeroed, opening a new window for second-hand new energy vehicles to go to sea
According to Cambodia's latest tariff policy, starting from April 1, 2026, all imported new energy vehicles will enjoy zero tariff treatment. The move aims to promote the transformation of green transportation in Cambodia, accelerate the popularization of new energy vehicles, and create an unprecedented policy window period for China's second-hand new energy vehicle exports.
Consul General Wen Weiye said during the exchange: "The Cambodia government attaches great importance to green and low-carbon development, and this tariff zeroing policy has sent a strong market signal. China has leading technological advantages and rich product resources in the field of new energy vehicles. As an important automobile industry base of China, Chongqing has huge space for cooperation with Cambodia in the field of new energy vehicles."
Empowering the base to build Chongqing Automobile's full-chain service capabilities for going overseas
During the inspection, Consul General Wen Weiye and his party visited the base's "Top Ten Service Centers" on the spot to gain an in-depth understanding of the base's full-chain service capabilities in vehicle source integration, testing and certification, maintenance, customs declaration and export, and overseas after-sales. Fu Yi introduced in detail the development results and future plans of the base in recent years.

As a used car export industry cluster platform built by Chongqing City, China (Chongqing·Banan) used car export base has attracted dozens of companies since its operation, and its export business covers many countries along the "Belt and Road". It is worth mentioning that the strategic layout of the base in Cambodia has made substantial progress-DG MOTORS Phnom Penh store moved to a new location on March 21 this year and opened grandly. The exhibition hall covers an area of over 2000 square meters, which is an important fulcrum for the base to deeply explore the Cambodian market. Fu Yi said: "Cambodia's New Deal has brought significant benefits to Chongqing vehicles going abroad. Relying on DG MOTORS Phnom Penh store, we are accelerating the connection with local sales channels and after-sales service networks, exploring new energy vehicles as a breakthrough, and promoting more Chongqing high-quality automobile products to enter the Cambodia market."
Deepen cooperation and jointly draw a new picture of China-Cambodia automobile trade
Consul General Wen Weiye spoke highly of the base's operating model and overseas layout. He pointed out that the successful operation of DG MOTORS Phnom Penh store is a vivid practice of China-Cambodia automobile industry cooperation. Chongqing and Cambodia are highly complementary in the automotive industry. We hope that the two sides will take this new tariff policy as an opportunity to establish a closer cooperation mechanism and jointly create a new channel for China-Cambodia automobile trade.

Data shows that the number of new energy vehicles in China has exceeded 10 million, and the source of used vehicles is becoming increasingly abundant. As the replacement of domestic new energy vehicles accelerates, high-quality second-hand new energy vehicles are becoming the "blue ocean" of the export market. The implementation of the New Deal in Cambodia, combined with the completed local service network of DG MOTORS, provides Chongqing used car export enterprises with highly competitive cost advantages and implementation guarantees.
Chongqing vehicles go out to sea, and the base comes first
Fu Yi said: "The zero-tariff policy will significantly reduce the cost of purchasing cars for Cambodia consumers and greatly enhance the competitiveness of China's second-hand new energy vehicles in the local market. The base will give full play to the platform advantages and DG MOTORS 'localized service capabilities, and strive to achieve the first batch of orders for second-hand new energy vehicles exported to Cambodia in the shortest possible time."

This inspection and exchange not only deepened the Cambodia Consulate General in Chongqing's understanding of the base, but also laid a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation between the two sides in the field of new energy vehicles. In the future, China (Chongqing·Banan) used car export base will continue to leverage its platform advantages, use DG MOTORS Phnom Penh store as a fulcrum, actively expand the Cambodia and Southeast Asian markets, improve overseas service networks, strengthen supply chain coordination, help more "Chongqing cars" sail around the world, and contribute greater strength to the high-quality development of the regional economy.
